Sustainability Through Change
Portal 2.0
Our online MySurreyPlace Portal was developed to provide a centralized space for clients, caregivers and the community to actively manage and view their information, access services, and health information. The goal was to create a tool that was not only organized, but one that creates a more efficient flow of administrative work that is beneficial to both clients, caregivers, and Surrey Place staff. In our commitment to continuous improvements and efficiencies, Portal 2.0 was part of the ongoing work in building MySurreyPlace. Through extensive testing and continuous client-user feedback, Portal 2.0 launched in February 2024 with improvements to existing functionalities such as My Profile, Contact Management, Consent Controls, Document Sharing, and Support & Resources. We focused on enhancing our client and community online service experience, which allows clients and caregivers to control and manage aspects that matter most to them.
Process Reform Working Group
Since the introduction of the needs-based Ontario Autism Program in 2019, we have had to navigate through a transformative period in our Autism Services. Families have always been at the heart of our clinical work, and our commitment to providing exceptional care has remained steadfast. However, with changes to the funding model for autism service delivery, it has become ever more imperative to make it easier for clients, families, and caregivers to find and choose us for their needs. The Process Reform Working Group was formed to bring clinical and administrative departments together to address and adapt to the changing landscape. For the past fiscal year, the group has met regularly and led improvements to the registration process, engaged family feedback, adapted services to client needs, and developed resources for families and caregivers. The engagement and hard work of staff across the organization have been instrumental in meeting these changes as we continue to be the place families and caregivers need us to be.
