Creating and Using Visuals
Visuals occur in our everyday life and can help enhance our understanding of communication, increase our efficiency in day to day tasks and keep us organized. Using visuals with your child can help them be more independent, learn new skills and increase their understanding of their environment.
This workshop will review the benefits of visuals and provide an overview of the types of visuals you can use to support your child with developmental disabilities, such as daily schedules, token boards, first-then boards and social stories. It will also provide strategies for making visuals using simple materials at home and provide some helpful online resources.
Two separate sessions for different groups of parents to attend. 25 parents maximum per workshop.
