Specialized Assessment and Consultation
Ages 0 – 5
This highly individualized service is supervised by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and can be delivered in two formats to best support the goals and priorities of the family, child or youth.
Comprised of an assessment, educational workshop and individual consultation sessions with a BCBA for short term specific treatment issues such as: toilet training, managing anxiety, or power struggles.
This format includes:
- Assessment activities
- Phone calls, forms, interviews around issue; identify target of clinic; direct clinic visit with child/caregiver
- Parent education
- Introductory concepts on specific issue; general teaching strategies for specific issue; clinic overview (review of what to expect in your sessions and overview of treatment plan)
- Treatment sessions
- Training to caregivers or professionals using the mediator model, including modeling use of strategies and providing feedback to mediators with child present; may include direct intervention with child if appropriate
- Follow up phone call
An assessment and individual sessions at centre location OR at the family home. This option is designed to provide expert BCBA consultation to your family and other professionals working with your child.
This intensive clinic consists of:
- Assessment activities
- Phone calls, forms, interviews around issue(s); identify target(s) of clinic; direct clinic visit with child/caregiver; review of what to expect in sessions and overview of treatment plan
- Treatment sessions (Individualized to the need of child/caregiver)
- May involve direct intervention with child or youth
- Training to caregivers or professionals using the mediator model, including modeling use of strategies and providing feedback to mediators with child present
- Follow up phone call
This format may be able to address a more complex issue, more than one specific issue, or can be customized to provide BCBA consultation to a child’s home-based treatment team.
