Services Provided

Intake Assessment/Family Support Services:

Intake assessments can be undertaken at the request of families or are referred to TRE-ADD by individuals/agencies within the Social Services or Medical professions on their behalf. The intake team reviews all available information and makes the initial determination about the suitability of the referral and the availability of services.

Clients deemed suitable for TRE-ADD services are placed on a supported waitlist. Families on the waitlist have the opportunity to attend parent education offered by TRE-ADD and may be able to access short-term consultation to help manage their child within the family home or current educational setting.

Client referrals which are deemed unsuitable for TRE-ADD services are directed to other autism treatment services within the community.

In home support is provided by our specialized team of Family Support Coaches, Social Worker, Clinical Supervisors who can help families connect with services in their community, access family or individual parent counselling, devise behaviour support strategies designed to increase adaptive behaviours and help their child function at their optimum levels at home and at school.

TRE-ADD School Based Services:

School Based Services includes specialized education and treatment interventions for school aged children and youth with autism and developmental Disorders. Students enrolled in one of the six classrooms receive a clinical and educational assessment, which provides the foundation for the individualized treatment plan for the student and their family. School based services are designed to help students reach their academic, vocational, communication and life skills potential, while promoting adaptive behaviours to prepare them for reintegration into a less restrictive educational environment. Referrals for School Based Services are prioritized through the TRE-ADD program wait list and admissions are determined based on client needs as they match with the services offered.

Parent Respite

For families receiving active TRE-ADD services, the clinical team may determine that short term treatment based parent relief would be beneficial. Surrey Place has partnered with Community Living Toronto (CLT) to deliver this service. TRE-ADD staff work closely with CLT staff to ensure open clinical communication occurs between our services to ensure the best outcomes for parent respite.
