Six-Week Course for Service Providers on Health of Adults with IDD

We are offering a six-week course in the project ECHO virtual format as part of a research study on the health of Canadian adults with developmental disabilities and COVID-19. The course starts on June 10, 2022.
Over the six-week course, medical and mental health experts specializing in the care of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities will discuss ways to keep adults with IDD healthy in this phase of the pandemic. Topics include:
- Keeping it all together: Multiple health conditions, health care communication when working with multiple providers
- Building healthy lives: Developing healthy routines, keeping them, and adapting them
- Finding the Balance: Balancing our health needs with our work
There is no cost to participate in this research. Physicians can receive 1.5 Mainpro credits per session (a total of 9 credits for the course).

What to Expect
If you participate in the study, you will:
- Attend an optional 30-45 minute orientation session prior to the start of the course;
- Attend an interactive weekly online course for 6 weeks;
- Complete a series of online questionnaires that take about 25-35 minutes each (before the course, at the end of the course, and 8 weeks after the course is over);
- Complete a 5-minute weekly satisfaction survey after each session;
- Participate in an optional focus group to discuss your experience after the course is over;
- Receive a gift card at the end of the study for participating.
