Brief Caregiver Counselling
Caregivers receive support from a psychologist to address challenges related to parenting their child with ASD. Counselling may address a wide range of issues (e.g., parenting stress, worries about the future) and is aimed at improving caregivers’ ability to support their child as they learn to deal with their own mental health challenges.
Families may receive up to 8 counselling sessions. Those not appropriate for short-term counselling will be directed to more appropriate services.
Available to caregivers of children who are registered with the OAP and live in the city of Toronto.
