What to expect
Inquire
Connect with DSO Toronto Region by phone or online form. Once you inquire, we’ll guide you through the next steps and explain the application process.
Assessment
Our team will review eligibility requirements and complete conversations about your goals, strengths, support needs, and daily living circumstances. This helps us understand what services may be most appropriate.
Service guidance
Once eligible, you’ll be connected to available adult developmental services and supports based on your assessed needs and preferences. Timing of services may vary depending on availability.
DSO Toronto Region helps eligible adults connect to publicly funded developmental services such as residential supports, community participation programs, respite services, and planning supports for greater independence. DSO can also help you understand options such as Passport funding and connect you with community resources that may be helpful.
There is no cost to apply to or receive intake and application support through DSO Toronto Region. Adult developmental services funded through the province are publicly funded for eligible individuals.
No referral is required. Adults, family members, caregivers, or substitute decision-makers can contact DSO Toronto Region directly to begin the process.
You may also be referred by a school, hospital, community agency, or healthcare provider.
