At the Adult Psychiatric Clinic, we help clients and their circle of care make confident decisions about mental health care. Once you have received a referral from your primary care physician, clients meet with a specialized psychiatrist and a registered nurse to determine what form of mental health care is best for them.
During consultations, your psychiatrist can provide assessments, diagnoses, medication reviews, and clear care recommendations so everyone feels well-informed going forward.
PLEASE NOTE: We do not provide ongoing psychiatric treatment at the clinic.
Who we support
The Adult Psychiatric Clinic supports adults ages 18–45 who have an intellectual or developmental disability (e.g., autism, FASD, complex physical or mental health issues, undiagnosed developmental disorders).

Receive your assessment
Your psychiatrist will guide you through your assessment, diagnosis, or treatment recommendations.
To be eligible for this service, you must be registered with Developmental Services Ontario and have a referral sent to Surrey Place by a primary care provider, such as a physician or nurse practitioner.
No, the clinic doesn’t provide ongoing treatment, but we help you plan care going forward. Our specialized psychiatrist helps patients and their circle of care determine what form of support is best for them—whether that’s medication recommendations, a care plan, or connecting them with another mental health professional.
This service supports individuals with a range of mental health concerns, including behaviours that are challenging, mood and anxiety disorders, emotional regulation difficulties, and more complex conditions such as schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders.
Clients are referred to the psychiatric clinic by family physicians and other medical specialists for consultation. Psychiatrists then provide comprehensive mental health assessments, medication reviews, and treatment recommendations.
