MMW Clinical Videoconferencing Program

Expanding the limits of clinical services with telehealth

The Mashkikiiwininiwag Mazinaatesijigan Wichiiwewin (MMW) Clinical Videoconferencing Program offers online healthcare services and periodic in-person services in Northern communities. The purpose of this program is to bring specialized clinical support to communities that often can’t access in-person care—while embracing Northern culture with integrity and respect.

Our Toronto and Northwestern Ontario-based team members travel to provide in-person services 2–3 times per year. Communities we visit during these trips include Dryden, Sioux Lookout, Fort Frances, Weagamow, Kasabonika, and Sandy Lake.

Who we support

The MMW Clinical Videoconferencing program supports adults aged 18 and over who:

• Are living in Northwestern Ontario
• Have a diagnosed or suspected intellectual or developmental disability
• Are eligible for Developmental Services Ontario Northern Region

What MMW offers:

We offer a wide variety of telehealth services, including:

• Intake and Service Coordination
• Clinical Regional Access Coordinator
• Psychology (e.g. diagnosis, eligibility assessment, dementia, autism, FASD)
• Behaviour Therapy
• Counselling
• Occupational Therapy
• Speech and Language
• Psychiatry (e.g. Assessment, Consultation)
• Wellness Groups
• Referrals initiated through DSO-North
• Consultation, workshops and training on autism, fetal alcohol spectrum disorder, and dementia

Since 2005, our team has collaborated with Northern community partners, including Sioux Lookout First Nation Health Authority and Community Living Dryden Sioux Lookout, to ensure quality and cultural responsiveness during service delivery.

You’ll be invited to book your telehealth appointments. Appointments are delivered virtually across Northwestern Ontario, with limited in-person visits in select communities.
