Toronto, April 27, 2017 – Surrey Place Centre receives Accredited 2016-2020 decision from Accreditation Canada.
Surveyors further recognized the organization for:

Surrey Place Centre provides specialized clinical services that are responsive to individual need and promote health and well-being in the Toronto region. We support infants, children, youth and adults living with developmental disabilities and autism spectrum disorder reach their full potential.
Accreditation is a voluntary process that allows health care providers to assess every aspect of health care and service against national standards. Surveyors were on-site at Surrey Place Centre October 31 to November 2, 2016 where they reviewed documentation and performance dates, observed client processes, and interviewed clients, families, staff, board members and community partners.
In recognition of the significant growth and increasing complexity of our services since our last accreditation review in 2012, Accreditation Canada commended Surrey Place Centre on “ the commitment to using accreditation to improve the quality and safety of the services it offers to its clients and its community” in awarding us Accredited 2016-2020!
Surveyors further recognized the organization for:
- Completing the rigorous evaluation against national standards for excellence
- Intrinsic involvement of clients and families in treatment and the shaping of our organizational culture
- Client focus and family centeredness in quality improvement
- The variety of skills and experience at board and staff levels
- Passionate, compassionate, collaborative and motivated staff teams
- Sector leadership and our comprehensive programs and services
The commitment and dedication of those involved in our work is once again reflected in the organization meeting 93% of the more than 400 standards reviewed by Accreditation Canada.
The comprehensive assessment of the organization’s leadership, governance, clinical programs and services against Accreditation Canada’s requirements for quality and safety is an important part of Surrey Place Centre’s commitment to continuous quality improvement.
