Symphonic Passion Chorus

Online Holiday Concert

DECEMBER 8, 2021 – 6 P.M.

The Symphonic Passion Chorus brings audiences a mix of traditional Christmas carols and classic holiday favourites. This performance is a unique part of Surrey Place’s rich history and is also a great opportunity for clients to connect and engage in the community. We promise you’ll be inspired to hum and sing for the whole holiday period after the concert!

All proceeds will go towards the Surrey Place Charitable Foundation, which supports our clients’ well-being, and special initiatives such as the Symphonic Passion Chorus Concert.

Choir Fun Facts

Adapted Choir Book

The choir uses adapted music books that combine words and pictorial symbols (widgets), rather than musical notation. It makes the singing experience accessible to members of all reading abilities.

It Takes A Village

Members of the choir build and refine multiple skills over time. Staff, volunteers, and members practice weekly from September to December. This amounts to over 24 hours of practice.

Sense of Community 

The choir’s focus is not on perfect notes but rather on promoting a sense of social belonging and increasing self-esteem. We do this by striving towards a common goal and celebrating each other.

Musical Stylings

During the performance, you will also see the work and musical stylings of our choir conductors Ana Santo and Michael Wong, our pianist Julie with guitar accompanist Shany Biran and other guest artists.
