Gathering Feedback on a Vaccination Social Story to Help Autistic Children and Their Caregivers
Researchers at the University of Guelph are looking for people to give feedback on their Social Story resource about getting a vaccination. The goal of this Social Story is to help families prepare for and cope with getting a vaccine. They are looking to hear feedback from: 1) autistic youth (7-17 years), 2) autistic young adults (18-24 years) and 3) caregivers of autistic individuals.
Participants will review/read the Social Story on their own time and then complete an online survey to give your feedback (takes about 25 minutes or less). If an online interview to complete the survey is better for you, then you can request this.
At the end of the survey, you have the option to choose an autism-related organization for a $10 donation to be made to.
All participants must live in Canada and speak English. You can participate individually or as a child or young adult and caregiver pair.
If you’re interested, the next step would be a brief phone call with the lead PhD student researcher, Olivia Dobson (University of Guelph). Please email her to let her know that you’re interested or to ask any questions: odobson@uoguelph.ca
