School Support Program
Training school boards and community organizations about autism
Since 2004, the School Support Program (SSP) has provided supports and services to local French and English school boards and their staff as well as other local community organizations. The goal of SSP is to increase their understanding of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and evidence-based approaches such as applied behaviour analysis (ABA) that have proven to be beneficial at schools and in communities.
Our services include:
- Educational and training events
- Support for the transition from treatment settings to full-time school settings via the Connections for Students service
- Targeted resource development that supports identified needs to enter into and succeed in a school or other setting
- Professional development for community organizations and school boards to strengthen their existing approaches to supporting children and youth
SSP aims to help children and youth with ASD thrive.
