Social Time

Aims to help children expand their social skills to interact with others, communicate their needs, and advocate for themselves.

Program Details
Our ABA-based strategies will help children learn early social skills like greetings, sharing, turn-taking and playing with peers. Older teens will also practice understanding facial expressions and body language, engaging in simple conversations, and responding to challenging social situations or conflicts
This program also includes educational workshops, observations, and coaching sessions for caregivers to teach you how to maintain the skills your child will learn from this program.
Once your child has gone through an initial assessment, our experienced clinical team will create a personalized behavior plan tailored to their unique needs.
This program might be the right fit if your 3–13 year-old child:
- Has an established communication system (e.g., vocal, sign language, PECS or other AAC system
- Responds to their name, follows basic instructions from adults and makes requests from adults
- Has emerging imitation skills
- Has minimal to minor disruptive behaviours (e.g., running away, harming self or others, throwing or destroying objects, yelling, non-compliance)
This program might be the right fit if your 14-18 year-old teen:
- Has a strong speaker and listener vocabulary: your child should be able to ask questions, make comments, and understand others
- Has emerging conversation skills
- Plays simple board games and engages in various, age-appropriate interests
- Is interested in making friends and socializing with peers
- Is able to sit and participate in a group lesson or activity for at least 15 minutes
- Has minimal to minor disruptive behaviour (e.g., running away, harming self or others, throwing or destroying objects, yelling, or non-compliance)
- Personalized 1-to-1 support is available at extra cost, if needed.
